Description
Aeldari Dark Reapers – The Aspect of Destruction
The Aeldari Dark Reapers are one of the most feared and iconic of the Aspect Warrior shrines found across the Craftworlds. Dedicated to the destructive aspect of the War God Khaine, these warriors specialize in delivering overwhelming, long-range heavy fire support. Clad in heavy, stylized armor that resembles ancient Aeldari death masks, the Dark Reapers move with slow, deliberate precision, bringing the full weight of their devastating weaponry to bear. This Citadel miniature kit allows you to assemble five of these elite heavy weapons specialists for your Warhammer 40,000 army.
Lore: The Silent Harbingers of Death
Within the Aeldari Path, the Path of the Warrior leads many to the Aspect Shrines. The Dark Reapers embrace the role of the distant killer, the one who brings destruction from afar. Their heavy, segmented armor incorporates sophisticated sensor arrays and targeting systems, allowing them to pinpoint and eliminate targets with terrifying accuracy, regardless of range or visibility. Unlike the swift Striking Scorpions or Howling Banshees, the Dark Reapers are masters of positioning and sustained bombardment, raining death upon the enemy lines before they can even close the distance. They are the silent, inexorable hand of Khaine.
Battlefield Role: Long-Range Heavy Support
In the game, Dark Reapers serve as an essential Heavy Support choice, providing consistent, high-damage output from a safe distance. Their primary strength lies in their ability to ignore movement penalties when firing their heavy weapons, ensuring maximum accuracy turn after turn. This makes them a reliable anchor for any Aeldari Craftworlds force, capable of suppressing enemy infantry and destroying light vehicles with ease.
Key tactical advantages of fielding Dark Reapers:
- Exceptional Range: The Reaper Launcher allows them to engage targets across the entire battlefield.
- Sustained Firepower: They deliver a high volume of powerful shots, making them effective against both hordes and armored infantry.
- Reliable Accuracy: Their specialized rules ensure they maintain high accuracy even after repositioning.
- Anti-Infantry Specialist: They excel at clearing out enemy objective holders and elite infantry units.
Wargear and Exarch Options
The core weapon of the Dark Reaper is the Reaper Launcher. This potent weapon fires salvos of armor-piercing, shuriken-like ammunition over vast distances, capable of shredding enemy formations.
The kit includes components to assemble one model as a Dark Reaper Exarch, the leader of the shrine. The Exarch can be equipped with the standard Reaper Launcher or specialized weaponry, such as the powerful Tempest Launcher or a Shuriken Cannon, offering tactical flexibility depending on the threats your army faces. The Exarch also possesses enhanced combat skills and unique abilities that further boost the unit’s effectiveness.
Add this iconic and powerful Aeldari unit to your collection. The Dark Reapers are a rewarding hobby project and a crucial component for mastering the tactical depth of the Craftworlds. Supplied unpainted and requires assembly.
