Description
March for the Omnissiah with Adeptus Mechanicus: Skitarii
Building a successful Warhammer 40,000 army requires a dependable, points-efficient infantry core. Without a solid battleline, high-value heavy support units like Onager Dunecrawlers and Kastelan Robots are left completely exposed to deep-strike threats, fast cavalry charges, and early objective denial.
The Adeptus Mechanicus: Skitarii kit solves that strategic vulnerability by providing the essential, flexible foot-soldiers of the Machine God [1]. Enhanced with cybernetic implants, respirators, and Martian tech-plate beneath heavy fabric robes, this unit holds key primary objectives, screens your backfield, and lays down reliable fire support across every turn of the game.
Strategic Tabletop Advantages of the Skitarii Box Set
1. Dual-Build Flexibility: Rangers or Vanguard
One of the most practical features of Adeptus Mechanicus: Skitarii is the ability to choose your tactical doctrine. Assemble your 10 miniatures as Skitarii Rangers armed with galvanic rifles to pin down opposing infantry from extreme range, or configure them as Skitarii Vanguard wielding radium carbines to advance into midfield objectives and weaken enemy toughness with radioactive volleys [1].
2. Specialist Firepower & Data-Tether Support
This kit delivers impressive options to deal with varied armor profiles. You can outfit individual troopers with devastating heavy hardware, including the tank-busting arc rifle, superheated plasma caliver, or the sniper-grade transuranic arquebus [1]. Further boost your squad’s leadership and ballistic accuracy under fire by assigning an omnispex scanner to ignore enemy cover, or an enhanced data-tether to maintain doctrinas from your Tech-Priest commanders [1].
3. Intricate Cyber-Gothic Aesthetic for Hobby Painters
Beyond tactical utility, the Skitarii sculpts are among the most distinct infantry models in the Warhammer 40,000 range. Packed with mechanical bionic limbs, industrial power packs, hooded respirators, cabling, and clawed cybernetic feet, they provide an immensely rewarding canvas for edge-highlighting fabric, weathering armor plates, and creating glowing plasma coils.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can this single box build both Rangers and Vanguard at the same time?
The kit contains 10 bodies, 10 backpacks, and 124 components, allowing you to build either a full 10-man squad of Skitarii Rangers OR a 10-man squad of Skitarii Vanguard (or a 5-man squad of each, provided you manage weapon loadouts for each squad’s leader) [1].
Why is there an oval base included alongside the 25mm round bases?
The larger 60×35.5mm oval base is specifically provided to mount the transuranic arquebus sniper rifle [1]. Because this heavy weapon features an extended barrel and a deployed front monopod/bipod, the oval base gives the miniature the stability and correct footprint required by tournament rules.
Are weapon options included for the Skitarii Alpha squad leader?
Yes. The kit provides multiple dedicated melee and pistol weapons exclusively for the squad’s Alpha, including a power sword, arc maul, taser goad, radium pistol, arc pistol, and phosphor blast pistol [1].
